What is God's Plan For You?

God's Plan

God has a plan for each of us. To be in His will, we must seek God.

God does not dictate what you and I do with our lives. We have a free will and can choose whatever we like. The tragic result is that so many choose poorly and make choices based solely on selfish desires.

Remember God's Plan for the Israelites.

The Israelites had been in Egypt for over 400 years. And because they had grown in number, the Egyptians grew afraid of them. They feared the Israelites would side with the enemy and be a force that could conquer them.

The Egyptian's solution was to put the Israelites in captivity and work them as slaves, making bricks.

Then God sent Moses to rescue them. After many amazing miracles, the Israelites walked out of Egypt with the blessing of the Pharaoh. They were happy to see them leave.

It was God's plan to lead the Israelites into the land of Canaan to possess it. Moses sent 12 spies into the land of Canaan to scout the land. They all came back with glowing reports of the land. But 10 out of the 12 reported that the inhabitants were just too great for them. Only Joshua and Caleb came back with a good report. They said, "With God's help, we can easily take the land."

The Israelites rebelled against Moses and God. God relented and had Moses lead the Israelites into the wilderness. They traveled around in the wilderness for 40 years. During the 40 years, all the people that rebelled died in the wilderness except Joshua and Caleb. God allowed Joshua and Caleb and the Israelite people to go into the land of Canaan, and they possessed the land.

Rebellion

God has a plan for each of us and it is not rebellion. We need to seek God's plan and put aside our selfish, ego-centered plans. We should seek what God wants us to do.

If we elect to go it on our own, we end up in the wilderness. The wilderness is hot, dry, and barren. In the wilderness is a tragic life of walking in circles. It is a wasted life.

God's plan is straight and has a happy ending. Jesus said, "I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly."

Steps for Seeking God

Step One is to seek God with all your heart and all your mind. The word of God says that those who 'ask will receive, those that seek will find and those that knock, the door will be opened.'

Step Two is to "Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and to love others..."

Step Three is to shut-up and listen. When we love God and we seek Him, He will answer. Many never hear God because they do not listen for God's small-still voice. Spend time in meditation, listening to God.

Step Four is to become a doer of the Word, not just a hearer of the Word. The Word says to have faith, then be a doer and have faith. The Word says to pray, then be a doer and pray. The Word says to reach out to your neighbor, then reach out to your neighbor.

"My People Perish for Lack of Knowledge."

Seven of the most tragic words in the Bible: "My people perish for lack of knowledge."

These were the words express by Hosea in Hosea 4:6.

There are two examples of lack of knowledge. Both are tragic.

First, lack of knowledge may come from not knowing, uneducated in the subject.

Second, lack of knowledge may come from a rejection of the knowledge. The person knows, but he rejects the knowledge out of being self-centered, fear, or many reasons. Rejection of the Word of God leads to death.

Search for God's Plan

Search for God's plan until it is crystal clear to you. The first two clues of where to look is in the Word of God and on your knees. This will lead to your knowledge of God's plan for you. It leads you away from walking in circles in the wilderness. It leads to life and a more abundant life.
